Competence deficits in the area of teaching/learning with the resulting competence requirements for trainers, lecturers and vocational school teachers are compared and the learning orientation is determined.
1. Result
Qualification deficits with regard to digital competences in the retail sector were surveyed via comparative case studies. The interview partners belonged to the educational staff of vocational schools, educational institutions or companies who are employed in the main occupations of salesperson and retail salesperson.
The aim of the expert interviews was to find out which qualification deficits exist with regard to digital competences in retail (measured against the competences listed in digicomp2.0 or digicompEDU) in order to develop e-learning units. The results will serve to reduce competence and qualification gaps.

2.Result
The presented competency matrix is based on comparative case studies that examined skill gaps in digital competencies within the retail sector. The study involved educational personnel from vocational schools, training institutions, and companies working in the professions of retail salespersons and retail management assistants. The goal was to create a cross-national matrix that compares the weighting of skill gaps and the competency levels of educational staff across different learning environments. Additionally, previously unidentified gaps were identified to integrate them into the development of practical, digital micro-learning units aligned with business processes in retail.
The complete competency matrix is available for download below.

Work package n°4
Qualification of pedagogical professionals
As part of the project, the consortium developed specialized learning scenarios for micro-learning units within Work Package 4, aimed at specifically addressing the skills gaps identified among trainers, lecturers, and vocational school teachers. These scenarios were carefully tailored to consider the conditions across vocational schools, training centers, and companies, as well as the diverse skill levels of the target audiences. By crafting custom-fit scenarios, the project enables the effective and sustainable integration of eLearning into daily training routines. The overarching goal is to optimize learning processes and provide targeted support for both trainees and skilled professionals, fostering their professional growth and development.
The developed learning scenarios can be reviewed in this project document and are available to all interested parties.
